Welcome to a new learning year!

Room 14's class of 2017 certainly looks like a fantastic group of students so far! I was excited to meet all of the students today and already impressed with the passion, energy, creativity, questioning, and initiative they showed. Each student today was gifted a goodie bag with things inside that represent different attitudes and behaviours or little reminders about things I hope for this year...

This is what the children were given:

Welcome to Team 14 2017!
I am so glad that you are here!
I have filled this bag with little goodies that represent things you may need to do or remember as a learner and as a person.
Rubber bandbe flexible...we all need to work together, sometimes doing things we don’t like or with people we don’t get along with. Be flexible.
Pencil - put pencil to paper...we are all going to work hard. It may seem a challenging at first but I am here to help you and there will be lots of fun experiences to be had.
Jandal - stand tall...be proud and confident, be proud to be different.
Glow stick - shine...you were born to stand out. Don’t let anyone dull your sparkle!
Rubber - make mistakes... learn from them. Don’t be afraid as this is proof that you are trying and learning.
2 Gobstoppers - think twice...watch what you say. Is it true; is it helpful; is it kind; is it necessary; is it inspiring?
Smarties - you are smart...aim high, work hard, do your best, don’t worry about what other people are doing, focus on your own learning and your own ‘smarts’.
Bookmark - find your place...sometimes we don’t know what to do, or how to ask for help, and might feel a little lonely. You have a special place in this class and we are all here to help you find it.
Puzzle piece - we fit together...we are a team!
Starburst - you are a star!
From,
Mrs Geraghty
